Ruthless Decluttering can transform your life ... one room at a time.

I’m Ruthless Ruth and I come into your heart and your home to help you regain control of your living spaces. With sensitivity, empathy and compassion, I will help free you of the clutter that is holding you back.

I am a mother of two children in their late teens. After two decades juggling family, work and relationships I was finally at the point where I had more time and could do the things I liked doing but something was missing. With the kids becoming increasingly independent, I felt purposeless; my motivation was zero and I became unsettled and depressed. Something had to change. I needed a project, something just for me, to sustain me through the transitions in my life. Over the summer I decided to declutter my entire house, every cupboard and every drawer.

At the last minute, I put my plan on Facebook to make myself accountable, and called it the “Ruthless Project”. All my friends loved it and cheered me on. It was a rewarding — and eye-opening experience. Taking a good, hard look at the physical state of my life taught me things about myself that I never knew. I discovered that I was:

●   a borderline hoarder; I had kept so many things, including my children’s teeth???

●   an impulse buyer; I found dozens of must-have items that I had never used or even worn

●   holding on to a person who no longer exists. All my letters and keepsakes were wonderful to look through, but as I read them I realised that I’ve grown into a different person. Letting go of them was liberating. It was time to say goodbye to Ruth, hello to Ruthless.

The experience of decluttering made me realise that I had been hiding under all my clutter and cluttering my life with excuses for not being my real self. The most important thing was that I unleashed a new persona; Ruthless was born and has served me well ever since.

My mission is to help other desperate
householders do the same.

Many women at my stage of life are:

●      Time poor. With so much to do, they often put their own needs last

●      Overwhelmed. They simply have too much stuff and don’t know where to start

●      Exhausted. They’re not getting any help and don’t have the energy to do it alone

●      Stressed. They feel pressured and guilty because their homes aren’t picture perfect

●      Demoralised. They’re struggling to maintain motivation as their circumstances and priorities change

Life has got in the way and they need a helping hand.

That’s where I come in. I help you to get organised and take control of your home. I tame the Tupperware and cull the clutter. All while highlighting some habits that may be limiting you in — and out of — the home.

Change is hard. It takes a lot of confidence and optimism to reshape your life. I encourage my clients to set realistic expectations and then give them the support they need to make difficult decisions. With humour and understanding I can help you to unleash the mighty one within and restore your sense of purpose.
